This newly built, Scissortail home was decorated with a contemporary, travel-inspired design style.
To achieve this look, Nico Interior Design combined new furniture and décor with the client’s personal art and objects collected from different places around the world.
The new furniture shares the same clean lines and forms; however, to create a more curated look, it varies in terms of materials, colors, and textures.
A neutral color palette is infused with bold accent colors to add character and a playfulness to the refined space. Light colors are set against dark to create contrast and interest. Warm textiles and woods are paired with metals to create balance.
Thoughtfully woven together, the range of materials, colors, and textures creates an upbeat rhythm and personalized atmosphere that permeates this open living plan.
Furnishings and décor are kept to a minimum to ensure the floor plan remained open and easy to maintain for this busy family. Every piece of furniture serves a specific need – every object has an emotional attachment.
