Remodel/Restoration

Historic Renovation Remodel Interior Designer Downtown Bentonville

This Historic Bentonville restoration and remodel needed a sensitive and thoughtful touch to improve the layout of the home while enhancing its period aesthetic.

Nico Interior Design made layout changes to improve the functionality of the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room, and closed off multiple doorways to simplify the direction of traffic. We used traditional materials and workmanship central to the Arts and Crafts movement to enhance the period aesthetic.

To respect the architectural integrity of this Craftsman farmhouse, we restored the original box beam ceilings, millwork, staircase, wood flooring and hardware.

The new design juxtaposes these original features with a contemporary color palette and modern amenities to evoke an up-to-date look without compromising the home’s heritage. The design is complete with reproduction antique furnishings that feature the simple lines of the Arts and Crafts aesthetic.

A custom, craftsman-inspired privacy fence, native stone patios and walkways, a custom deck, planters and a refresh of the exterior color palette complements the interior design.
